It all began with writer/artist Christine Stoddard starting a community radio show on Radio Free Brooklyn.The show has since expanded to a podcast available on major platforms and a new television show on Manhattan Neighborhood Network. In 2023, Stoddard was named one of the Top 50 Most Fascinating People in Brooklyn by Brooklyn Magazine for her work in theater, art, and media. This includes Badass Lady-Folk.

Christine Stoddard

Christine Stoddard is a Salvadoran-American writer, director, and artist who has authored a body of work comprised of books, films, plays, visual art, and digital media. She created Quail Bell Press & Productions, known for Quail Tales sketch comedy, Forget Fairytales comics, Quail Bell Magazine, and more. Her award-winning play Mi Abuela, Queen of Nightmares premieres at The Tank in September 2023. Her arthouse feature film Sirena’s Gallery is distributed by Summer Hill Entertainment and her short Bottled is streamable on Amazon Prime. Her books include Desert Fox By the Sea, Belladonna Magic, Water for the Cactus Woman, and other titles. Her work has appeared in the Broadway Comedy Club, The Huffington Post, Ms. Magazine, New York Transit Museum, Cosmopolitan, Queens Botanical Garden, The Brooklyn Rail, and beyond. She holds an MFA in Digital & Interdisciplinary Art Practice from The City College of New York and is currently pursuing her MA in Oral History at Columbia University.
